About PISIS Hub

A youth-centred creative economy and innovation lab in Sierra Leone.

PISIS Hub is a youth-centred creative economy and innovation organisation that designs, tests and scales solutions that help young people build skills, access opportunities, create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to inclusive development.

Who we are

PISIS Hub is a youth-centred organisation working at the intersection of creativity, culture, technology, entrepreneurship and social innovation. We are moving beyond one-off training activities toward designing, testing and scaling evidence-informed solutions for young people and their communities.

Our story

We started by gathering young Sierra Leoneans around hands-on creative work and mentorship. As the need became clearer — skills without pathways, talent without infrastructure, ideas without support — we grew into an innovation lab designing broader solutions across the creative economy, culture, digital inclusion, opportunity systems and community wellbeing.

Why PISIS Hub exists

Too many young people in Sierra Leone leave education without a clear pathway into work, enterprise or civic contribution. PISIS Hub exists to close that gap — building the skills, tools, networks and opportunity systems that let young people create, innovate and thrive.

Vision

A future in which every young person can access the tools, knowledge, networks and opportunities needed to create, innovate and thrive.

Mission

To empower young people through creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital inclusion and opportunity systems that expand economic participation and improve livelihoods.

Organisational model

An innovation lab, not a training provider.

PISIS Hub combines direct programmes with three developing innovation units — the Heritage Lab, the Pathways Lab and the Innovation Lab — that identify problems, co-design solutions, test them in real contexts and support what works to scale.

Lab 01

PISIS Heritage Lab

Researches, documents and reimagines culture and heritage.

Lab 02

PISIS Pathways Lab

Builds and tests systems for employment, entrepreneurship, career navigation and opportunity access.

Lab 03

PISIS Innovation Lab

Co-designs, pilots and evaluates practical responses to youth and community challenges.

Our approach

How we design, test and scale solutions.

Every programme moves through this six-stage cycle. It is what makes PISIS Hub an innovation lab rather than a training provider.

  1. Step 01

    Listen and Research

Understand young people, communities, systems and barriers.

  2. Step 02

    Co-Design

Develop solutions with young people and relevant stakeholders.

  3. Step 03

    Test

Pilot practical interventions in real-world contexts.

  4. Step 04

    Measure

Track implementation, outcomes, cost and learning.

  5. Step 05

    Improve

Use evidence and participant feedback to refine the model.

  6. Step 06

    Scale or Share

Support adoption by institutions, partners and communities.

Cross-cutting priorities

Safeguarding and inclusion

We work with young people, so safeguarding is not optional. We follow inclusive practice across gender, disability and background, and are developing formal safeguarding policies that will be published and applied across every programme and partnership.

PISIS Hub and PISIS Freetown

Two organisations. One creative ecosystem.

PISIS Hub is a nonprofit, youth-centred creative economy and innovation organisation focused on skills, opportunities, research and inclusive development.

PISIS Freetown is a separate fashion brand and social enterprise that may collaborate with PISIS Hub on selected creative, cultural and circular economy programmes. It is not the identity of PISIS Hub.
